What Are You Thinking? Teaching Critical Thinking Skills in Literacy and Math

How can we prompt students to be better problem solvers when reading and better readers when solving math problems? We will explore what we know about instruction that develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills for both content areas and look at strategies that help students strengthen their understanding through writing. Part II explores proven writing strategies that develop stronger mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
