Like learning to ride a bicycle, effective reading instruction requires essential skills and a solid foundation to propel teachers and students along the literacy journey.
Students need teachers who know how to teach the foundational skills of reading. Designed to be the cornerstone of a multiyear, systemic literacy improvement initiative, educators in Newcastle, Wyoming are using LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) as their comprehensive professional development course for instructors of language and literacy. Hear their story and learn why LETRS is the only literacy professional development course backed by more than 30 years of evidence-based scientific research.
Structured Literacy addresses all of the essential components of reading, plus oral language and writing and is the approach endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association’s Board of Directors.
