Led by nationally renowned researcher and educator Anita Archer, Ph.D., the REWARDS® Training of Trainers (TOT) provides a challenging, intensive instruction experience that prepares participants to train other educators in their districts. Building local training capacity has been shown to increase fidelity, sustainability, and quality of instruction—resulting in greater literacy achievement.

During the TOT, participants will:

  • Focus on the latest editions of REWARDS Intermediate and Secondary and the all-new REWARDS Plus
  • Explore the research that supports the instructional design of REWARDS
  • Learn strategies for effectively training others to implement REWARDS
  • Practice hands-on presentation delivery with feedback from Dr. Archer
  • Receive training materials that can be used to train teachers immediately

 

HOW IS THE TRAINING ORGANIZED?

The TOT session will focus on quality REWARDS instruction in both the Intermediate and Secondary levels, as well as how to use the training materials to train others.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This session is designed for staff developers, reading specialists, teachers, and district leaders who are familiar with REWARDS and designated to train staff in their schools or districts. Space is limited to no more than 40 participants.

Each attendee must:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s degree with at least three years of classroom experience
  2. Have taught or supervised instruction of a previous edition of the program
  3. Possess a solid foundation of program knowledge and be able to effectively present to adult learners

WHAT SHOULD PARTICIPANTS BRING?

Participants must bring the Teacher's Edition for either the Intermediate or Secondary level used in their district, and the REWARDS Plus Teacher's Edition for Social Studies. Please contact Customer Services at 800.547.6747 if you need to purchase materials.
